FastCat (Coursing Ability Test)

Date: July 22-26, 2026

Location: Salem Civic Center, Salem VA

This year, the Mountain Valley Cluster is excited to be offering 5 days of FastCAT. We will hold the event on the far side of the RV parking lot which is on the left side of the civic center as you are facing the building. We will have some tents available for shade for exhibitors and kiddie pools for the dogs. Parking will be available near the track. The track will be double fenced for safety.

Run times Wednesday through Saturday will be 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. There will be no runs during the lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Sunday runs will end at 3:00 PM. The cost will be $28.00 for preregistration at Speed Dog Coursing and $32.00 for day of entry.

It is suggested that you bring a second person to either release or catch as we cannot guarantee to have extra workers on hand.
